What topics for the term project did you have to learn on your own?

One challenge with the class is getting the required material early enough in the term. This term we organized topics temporally like:
System Design -> Power -> Industrial design -> FW -> Comms -> Sensors.
Is there a better organization, and if so, what and why?

In the last month, how many hours on average did you spend on the term project each week?
In the first half of the term, how many hours on average did you spend on homework & individual labs each week?
The team project would work better if one of the students acted as a project manager.
I wish we had more help managing teams.
What could we do to improve the team experience?

Would it be helpful if we asked Sloan MBA students to come act as informal advisors and help with resolve team issues?
Different team roles can lead to different learning experiences. Someone who develops the server will learn different things than someone who does ID, and different than someone who does electronics. Is this good, neutral, or bad? If bad, what might we do about it?

The staff should be stricter to keep our teams on track.
What else could we do to improve the class?

Typically we start projects anew each term. What do you think of the idea of having some projects explicitly build on prior work, like you would start with the prior year system and create the next version?
We are trying to improve the toolset that students bring to their projects. How would you feel about adding quizes on project-relevant topics as a way to ensure everyone has the skills to contribute to the project?
